Chapter 239: Crying for help during danger

Sima You Yue was stunned when she heard what Sima You Lin said and immediately smiled, saying, “How would I be able to help you! You’re so powerful and you have the backing of the Sima Clan.”

Sima You Lin shook his head, saying, “My gut tells me that you can help me.”

“So confident?” Sima You Yue said.

“My perception has always been acute. It’s saved me on many occasions.” Sima You Lin said.

“How do you want me to help you?” Sima You Yue asked.

“I know that your movement arts are more powerful than mine. I want you to teach me.” Sima You Lin just spoke his thoughts directly.

“Just this?” Sima You Yue looked at Sima You Lin. He came to find her just because of this?

She had thought that he had uncovered some of her secrets!

“Just this.” Sima You Lin said, “If I can improve my movement arts just by a step, my battle abilities would increase by that step. Are you willing to teach me?”

“I can’t teach you, but I can give you the book that taught me this art.” Sima You Yue said.

“Thank you.”

“”Don’t thank me yet, we still don’t know if it will be useful!”

This night, the two of them continued to sit on the mountain top, discussing under the moonlight about different methods of Qi. After the two exchanged pointers, Sima You Yue let her guard down. The main point of her assassin Qi allowed her to blend in with her entire surroundings while Sima You Lin’s main point of his Qi was an inward style. It sucked the Qi back into one’s body, and they were the complete opposite of each other.

As a result, Sima You Lin found a style that suited him based on Sima You Yue’s method and managed to perfect his method of concealing his Qi.

As the sun rose from the East, Sima You Yue quietly watched the sun rise overhead. She felt its warmth on her body along with the emotions of all living things on the earth and she slowly let herself blend into it.

Sima You Lin was immersed in his cultivation and suddenly realised he could no longer feel Sima You Yue’s aura. He turned his head in surprise and only let released a breath when he saw him sitting beside him.

At the same time, he exclaimed in his heart, “He’s clearly right beside me but I can’t feel his aura. His aura concealment method is actually at a higher level than mine!”

He felt that You Yue was already one with the earth and had spread out his aura. It was as if he had realised something and did not bother him. He began to work on his own method once again.

“He has blended his aura into the environment while my aura is kept within. I have to let myself turn into the dust in the atmosphere…”

He slowly closed his eyes as his aura disappeared as well. It was as if he had become just a speck of dust in the atmosphere.

As such, the aura that he released was much weaker. If he was standing in front of someone right now, he would definitely be able to assassinate them.

The Sima Clansmen did not disturb them, but continued to search nearby for the Moon Breath Grass in the centre of the mountain.

When it was afternoon, Sima You Yue finally woke up. She prepared to say something to Sima You Lin when she realised that he wasn’t beside her.

Sima You Lin was currently battling with a python not far from where she was. The python was already almost at saint rank, and its strength was equal to a low ranked Spirit Saint.

She saw that the ground near the place that she was sitting had all been flattened. It was probably that the python was already extremely close to them, but Sima You Lin did not want to disturb her in the midst of her contemplations and battled the snake further off.

Sima You Lin was not the python’s opponent, but he did not call out his Spirit Beast and was constantly challenging his limit.

Sima You Yue stood at the mountain top and did not go to help him. She knew that he didn’t need it.

After a tough battle, Sima You Lin finally killed the python. However, he had been injured as well and was unable to stand. His sword was stuck in the earth, supporting his weight.

Sima You Yue went over, took out a pill that would dispel the poison and handed it to him, “The medicine you have is useless in treating the python’s poison.”

Sima You Lin ate the pill before sitting down to activate the pill in him.

Sima You Yue walked over and cleaned the python up, taking out a pot to make snake stew.

Sima You Lin waited until the poison had been completely cleansed from his body and opened his eyes to see Sima You Yue reaching inside the pot to stir the contents with a ladle to prevent the insides from sticking to the pot.

“You really know how to cook anything.” He walked over where Sima You Yue had already set up a table and chairs.

“All these Spirit Beasts are delicious.” Sima You Yue replied matter-of-factly. Then, she glanced at Sima You Lin, saying, “Aren’t you powerful? You’re able to defeat a first ranked Divine Beast just by your strength alone. However, you’ve wasted quite a lot of mental energy and spent your strength. At the end, you even got some poison wounds.”

Sima You Lin was as if struck by lightning as he asked her, “How did I overcomplicate it?”

Sima You Yue didn’t keep it from him as she said while stirring the stew, “You were in a life and death battle with the snake, not in a competition. Why did you take so much considerations. That’s why your best method is not to kill it based on your strength, but to find the most effective method to take its life.”

“I also attacked his weak spot.” Sima You Lin said.

Sima You Yue shook her head, saying, “Although you attacked the weak spot at its seven inches spot, since it got bigger, that would have gotten bigger as well. Your general direction was right, but you didn’t manage to accurately get that point.”

“Point?” Sima You Lin looked at Sima You Yue without comprehension, but he suddenly understood, saying, “Your meaning is that I have to find the precise point of its weakness, not just the general direction to gain dominance, right?”

Sima You Yue did not refute him and continued, “Also, when you lack the strength, it’s not wise to stand in front of it. When you were battling the python, if you had run behind it long ago, you would not have been poisoned by its fangs. When you lack the strength, the best method is to attack from behind. Sneaking an attack is always the best.”

Sima You Lin listened to Sima You Yue’s analysis and understood his weak point in his battle just now. Aside from needing to have strength in a battle, one’s method was extremely important as well!

Sima You Yue did not carry on saying much more. She knew that Sima You Lin was a smart person and would understand her point. She cut straight to the point immediately.

When the stew was ready, she took out two bowls while Little Roar cleaned out the remaining.

“Let’s eat.” She placed the snake stew in front of him while he was still contemplating.

They had not finished eating the whole bowl of snake stew when a signal flare exploded in the sky.

“There’s danger there!” Sima You Lin recognised the emergency flare and stood up immediately.

Sima You Yue kept everything away and called out Little Roc, saying, “Take us there.”

This island had a rule that prevented one from flying in the sky. Only Flying beasts were able to fly using their wings.

Little Roc called out towards the sky and brought the two of them to the place where the signal flare had exploded.

On the way there, they saw Eldest Senior and the others. Sima You Yue let Little Roc take them with them and continued to fly.

Far away, they heard the roar of a group of spirit beasts and it sounded like there were many of them. It looked like the Sima Clansmen had not just encountered one or two Spirit Beasts.
