Chapter 122 – Infuriated to the point of discarding all rational thoughts (8)

Unless one had a heavenly treasure that could move him, such as the precious and rare Primeval Pill Recipes, getting him to act would be, difficult… extremely difficult.

If his highness Prince Jin’s name was used to accomplish this… no, it would be inappropriate. He would not even dignify to the King’s request with an answer, much less entertain His Highness Prince Jin. Not to mention, with so many enemies out there after His Highness Prince Jin’s life, if the news of his Highness’s injury were to leak out, that would far from being good!

If it was in the capital, Prince Jin’s manor had countless rare treasures. But here in the Nanming Prefecture, the treasures that could be counted were far from sufficient.

Steward Xu’s heart was anxious and apprehensive, yet he could only retrieve the most precious treasures from within the warehouse. He left in a hurry with an escort party towards the Apothecary’s estate.

Su Luo tailed after Ling Feng in the direction he flew with a surprisingly fast speed.

When she arrived, she saw two rows of uniformed guards outside the room. Every one of them bore a similar expression and movements; solemn, majestic, their imposing manner was intimidating and emitted a fully oppressive atmosphere.

Su Luo was stopped outside the door.

Ling Feng hollered out. “Throw her in here!”

Even though Ling Feng was very worried, he had not completely lost his mind yet. Although he was very unwilling to let Su Luo near his own master, it was already obvious that only with her around, would his Highness fight to live.

Such a discovery would drive people mad! Accordingly, Ling Feng had become so depressed that he started to pull out his own hair!

Su Luo completely was unaware of Ling Feng’s inner conflict. When she entered, she discovered that Ling Feng had already placed Nangong Liuyun in bed.

On the sickbed, Nangong Liuyun’s eyes were tightly closed.

His eyes when open were sharp and abstruse, cold and steady; but now they were tightly shut. Despite his vulnerability, his current appearance still gave off a strong enough aura to make people tremble with fear.

His red lips were alluring and formed a picturesque face that could grace a painting.

Hot, fresh blood dyed his white robe, and the outside of his cheeks, from his neck down, was dotted with bloodstains.

The him right now, although frail and pale, still leaked out the same formidable domineering air as before.

“You do it!” Ling Feng’s hands held a piece of embroidered cloth, and, with a with a trace of anger, he tossed it to Su Luo.

His highness Prince Jin was very mysophobia. Even though he had followed at his highness’s side for more than ten years, he still had to maintain a distance of one meter from his highness’s body. Just now, when he carried his highness inside, it was due to a moment of desperation and because he saw no other option.

However, this evildoer, Su Luo, was different. His Highness would probably be more than eager to have her get closer to him, right?! Ling Feng hatefully thought.

Su Luo held the soft, clean towel and slowly walked to Nangong Liuyun’s side. Sitting by his bedside, she silently gazed at him.

The ever noble, conceited and icily-cold Highness Prince Jin now appeared to be painfully suffering in a deep abyss. He appeared to be very pitiable and his current condition could not help but make people’s hearts soften.

Her cool, jade-like slender fingers brushed away a few strands of hair on his forehead and delicately, using the soft towel, wiped clean, centimeter by centimeter, the blood that covered his skin. That pure white jade like radiant skin, little by little regained its glittering splendor in the wake of her towel.

But, he remained unconscious, and his body was like an block of shifting ice, entirely stiff as iron and continuously shivering. As if he was so cold, he could pass away at any moment.

“Why has the Apothecary not come yet?! His Highness can’t hold on any longer!” Ling Feng was so worried that both his eyes became red. He then resolutely spoke to Su Luo, “Take good care of His Highness! I’ll go out return quickly!”

He said what he needed to say, and without waiting for Su Luo’s reply, his silhouette had already disappeared from where he was standing.

Su Luo secretly reasoned that, Ling Feng was an expert, and not just any expert; but one who was second only to Nangong Liuyun.

Suddenly, she felt something lock around her hand. Looking down once more, she discovered Nangong Liuyun’s bony and smooth hand tightly griped around hers.

Eh? Not dead yet? Just like a cockroach, lol XD

this just keep getting depressing. i wish NL to recovered real fast so that su luo isn’t obligated to serve him, though i wonder why she would feel obligated in the first place. if su luo still continue staying with NL,when he doesn’t even change. that pretty much show she’s the same before and after the second life.

  3. Potion Plz says:

-____-; I wonder why she hasn’t thought of using Celestial water from her spirit spring yet? Maybe she is just too shocked? I’m betting/hoping that she thinks to use it and renders the need for an Apothecary useless (besides minor recover/rest)…I could see this going that way. Another thing I can see happening is that the Apothecary decides the ‘treasure’ he really wants is Su Luo…

I also wonder if after NL heals, if he’ll advance his rank or have to rank all over again//how that works…

But yeah, this is really dragging on a bit…I’m glad at least the steward respects Su Luo. Ling Feng is rather exasperating =3=; but at least he is thinking in NL’s best interests (ie., putting aside his feelings and not killing her or something).

Hehe, I feel that miscommunication really screws them over–in terms of people underestimating Su Luo and her underestimating NL’s love. Like, she’d probably really like to hear that no one else is allowed in the carriage, including the Jade Lake fairy. And I bet if they knew about her Space magic & Celestial spring, they’d have her do something besides wiping his blood away. Even if he can’t drink the water (not saying he can’t), I bet even being cleaned with it (dipping the cloth she is wiping the blood away with) would help.

Thank you for your translation! Looking forward to the next ones!

I also find it strange she hasn’t given him Celestial water yet, but I don’t think she has any power to help him other than that or maybe the dragon, her wiping him with the towel should only strengthen his willpower

    • guy smiley says:

One reason being that she doesn’t trust him with the knowledge that she has the Celestial water, or that she opened her space. Maybe that’s why anyway, which would be good cos it’d mean she hasn’t completely lost her brains, contrary to how she has been acting in the last couple chapters.

  4. Prometheus says:

I can’t help to compare DKC’s main to DOP’s main, because they are both essentially the same character (except in DOP’s case, she doesn’t have a heavenly blessed luck).
But when I do, I can’t help but to think how far superior DOP’s character is.

    • Lolli says:

DOP the main character is too OP she jumps into fires and doesn’t burn >.> and a whole bunch of other stuff. I got bored around chapter 200 since there is like no one who can beat her. DKC is more interesting because more characters are introduced later who are pretty hilarious ^^ plus I like watching Su Luo use her wits to run away and anger her enemies until they cough up blood and want to die lol. I might read DOP again later on but ehhh I like this one better ^-^

    • Arkeus says:

DOP and DKC MCs are very, very, very different. DOP is a very direct MC with minimal scheming and almost always fighting against people much weaker than herself. She also gets into a very high position very fast and as far as I know never lose that.

Moreoever, the love interest seems more like a trophy than anything else.

DKC MC basically has to scheme and lie and backstab and run away to achieve the vast majority of what she does, and the love interest never becomes anything like a trophy (if anything he is the opposite).

They are very, very different types of characters. It would be like saying Douluo Dalu MC is the same as DOP/DKC simply because he also is a reincarnated assassin.

As for NL plot armour…. yeah 🙁 Basically Su Luo has some huge weaknesses when it comes to men loving her and forgiving them being huge creep and monsters toward her for no reason. Thanksfully NL himself get much better, but Su Luo does keep that “If you say you love me you can kill all my friends and try to rape me but as long as you are pretty I’ll forgive you” blindspot.

  5. Moridain says:

I like this shift, this vulnerability sits well with him.

  6. libraryrocker says:

Wah, I love this thanks so much for all your hard work!!

  7. hipployta says:

Hmmm…this ploy to keep her with him and get in her heart is smart. Clearly being all domineering got him nowhere so letting himself be injured and willing to be his life she felt something shows his commitment *cough*CRAZY*cough*

She’s probably more receptive knowing she’s the only one that’s different (because she was killed by her love before) but she also knows what he’s doing.

Effective communication would be so much easier

    • Jaelaun says:

That’s an interesting point. It’s like the opposite of her previous lover. He killed her, showing that his love was false. While NL gave her the option to kill him, to show his genuine commitment.

      • guy smiley says:

That’s not ‘genuine commitment’, it’s psychological manipulation. What he did was force her into choosing between 2 extreme results, him being killed by her (and then, as she doubtless knew, her being killed by Ling Fen), or her being made to feel guilty about injuring him twice, and thus chaining her to him from here on. The option to leave him with Ling Fen, to take him home to receive medical attention, and they just go their separate ways, like she wanted to do, he forcefully took that option away from her.

He manipulates her, denies her freedom of choice, guilt trips her, after sexually assaulting her despite repeated, clear objections. That’s not commitment, sorry.

  8. Hello says:

What happened to Little Meng Meng???

  9. Midori says:

    thank you very much!
that ling feng is really annoying!
did someone say treasures?! quick, get su luo to give some of the treasures she had gotten!

  10. crusnic says:

dam read this from the start to chap 122 without stopping even lost track of time

  11. Theseus says:

I still agree with the person who said that she should give him some of the special water that’s in her space

    • Lolli says:

Same it’s like she totally forgot about it. Also another interesting thing is no one wonders where Meng Meng went!!! He ate an iron special thingy killer arrow! Yet everyone forgot about him just like that T-T poor Meng Meng.

  12. Seiji07 says:

I swear, am I the only one screaming “SPIRIT WATER” in my head? Come on Su Luo!

  13. Kaiser says:

    Thanks!!
A great opportunity to meet the apothecary. She could gain experience around her capacity to make the pills

  14. AllhailBookworm says:

I really don’t get why she hasn’t even thought of that celestial water yet. I mean come on! She has a whole spring of the stuff.

  15. chronos5884 says:

    Thanks for the chapter!

  16. Arkeus says:

To people always talking about the Spiritual Water: it’s not a cure all. It had a good healing effect on Su Luo because she is not a mage/martial artist and because her wounds were not specially severe, but the Spiritual Water’s effect are more “super nourishing” than “heal anything”.

  17. Manga Hunter says:

All right Ii feel sorry for him now, but I still want her to avoid him.

  18. ava says:

This is rather disappointing. It’s rather obvious that she has somehow fallen in love with the rapey Prince. I mean the jealousy she has for the Jade Fairy is so obvious. If not for her feelings for the Prince then she wouldn’t have gotten so angry at him “abandoning” her. And staying by his side while he is injured is clearly more than just guilt. She totally lost her assassin cool when she saw him spitting blood. She’s so deep in denial it’s embarrassing. And now the rest of the story is just going to be her playing hard to get.
