Chapter 10: You Really Are a Pervert?
>>Part 2<<

“I’m Wu Peirui! First year, Justice Class.” The girl pulled off the hairtie on her ponytail and wiped off her sweat before once again tying her hair back up. Then, she continued: “How about you?”

“Chen Luonian.” Chen Luonian said: “Second year, Filial Piety.”*

In China, you’re assigned a homeroom which is your ‘class’. Each class has a name. When you’re in kindergarten it’s typically something cute like Daisy Class or Dandelion Class. As you grow up, the names get a little more literary as well. I chose to translate the meanings because that’s one less pinyin term you’ll needa remember~

Wu Peirui looked at Chen Luonian but didn’t continue to speak. Chen Luonian also didn’t know what to say, so the two just gazed at one another for a while. Wu Peirui thought for a bit, then spoke again: “I’m hungry, do you want to ask me out for dinner?”

“Huh? What?” Chen Luonian was stunned.

“Ask me out to dinner!” The corners of Wu Peirui’s mouth rose up and the volume of her voice was a bit louder. Those pair of not very big, but very bright eyes that were complemented with long eyelashes looked at Chen Luonian, “The old pork chop bowl shop around the corner past the entrance, how about it?”

“Alright.” Chen Luonian said as he scratched his head.

“I’ll go get changed. Let’s meet at the entrance of the school in fifteen minutes.” Wu Peirui turned around and headed towards the shower room that the school had set up next to the playground.

What’s going on? He had looked at women for many years. Being glared at and being yelled at were both very common, but how’d one end up popping out and wanting him to invite her to dinner?

The sky still hasn’t turned dark yet. Today was a little earlier than usual , but Chen Luonian picked up his schoolbag and walked towards the school’s entrance. Checking his watch, he found that only five minutes had passed. Looks like he’ll have to wait a while. Just as he leaned against the school gates and started spacing out, he saw a familiar figure that was walkingsmiling and walking towards him with a smile. Chen Luonian slightly started, then nodded, “Zongru.”

“Luonian.” Huang Zongru stopped walking and smiled, “Long time no see.”

“En, long time no see.” Chen Luonian sized Huang Zongru up and saw that his originally chubby physique had already turned fairly buff from compared to before; Chen Luonian didn’t know if thisit was related to Bian Ti. His eyesight had already returned to normal and he didn’t wear glasses anymore. Due to this, his gaze also didn’t dodge anymore and he seemed to have much more self-confidence than before. From the faint qixi that was emanating from his body, it could be surmised that he was probably already done with the Bian Ti process.

“It’s probably already been three months, right?” Huan Zongru stood next to Chen Luonian as he said: “You didn’t join at that time. I’ve always felt that it was a pity.”

Chen Luonian didn’t reply to this. Smiling, he asked: “Is everything going well for you guys?”

“Not bad.” Huang Zhongru suddenly smiled and said: “That’s right, do you know? Ever since the matter of the monsters started to spread out in the open, the martial dao schools came out into the open from the dark. In various parts of the word, subdivision sects of the martial dao school have appeared and they’ve started communicating with each other. But because they couldn’t find descendants of the original school, each sect is doing things their own way and working with the local governments.”

“I know. The news has been reporting it.” Chen Luonian said.

“Really? It’s rare for me to have the time to watch the news…” Huang Zongru shook his head and said: “There’s way too little members within our sect. Moreover, there’s not enough dispersion types. Luonian, Malian jie said you’re a dispersion type? Do you want to reconsider whether or not you’ll join?”

“I’m not interested.” Chen Luonian shook his head.

“Even if you’re afraid of getting injured… monsters can appear anywhere. Don’t you think it’d actually be safer for you if you went through Bian Ti?” Huang Zongru asked, unwilling to give up.

“I know.” Chen Luonian pointed towards the entrance of the school and asked: “Is that the dinner you guys ordered?”

“Yeah.” Huang Zongru turned around and paid the delivery man who had just rode over on a motorcycle. As he took the large bag of boxed food, he turned back to Chen Luonian and said: “Even though we accepted five new members, they’re all congregation types. I heard that dispersion types were all mostly female, but not a single high school girl dared to join after seeing that film… We also don’t know what we should do since we’re worried that we might not be able to get along well with someone who’s much older.”

After all this talk, he’s still just telling him to join. Chen Luonian gave a slight smile, then changed the topic, “Do you still have time to play online games now?”

“How could there possibly be time to play?” Huang Zongru gave a bitter smile and shook his head, “But life is seriously becoming more and more like that of games. Everyday we go around looking for monsters. But it’s really such a pity that we don’t have a ‘healer’ in reality, so it’s a little different from a game. Ah… and we really lack sorcerers, which is you ah.”

Dispersion types are sorcerers? Ye Weishan’s attacks were actually quite like that. Chen Luonian nodded, “You’re not going back yet? They’re probably really hungry now.”

“You also count as a senior, shouldn’t you go take a look at the new members?” Huang Zongru paused for a moment before saying: “Weishan and Yixin just happens to be out.”

“I have business, maybe some other day.” Chen Luonian’s gaze shifted and he saw that the runner girl, Wu Peirui, had just gotten pretty close. He secretly celebrated in his heart as he waved towards the girl, “Over here.”

“Hai!” The girl’s ponytail was still wet and she had already changed back into her uniform. As she quickened her pace to walk over, her eyes widened as she looked at Chen Luonian, then at Huang Zongru, seemingly hesitating over whether she should speak.

Huang Zongru didn’t expect Chen Luonian to really have matters to attend to. Upon seeing this, he slightly froze for a minute, before giving a sigh. Then, saying goodbye to Chen Luonian, he left.

“Let’s go.” Chen Luonian and Wu Peirui walked out together. While doing so, he couldn’t help but glance at her a couple of times. It looked like this girl was in a pretty good mood, wonder what she meant by having him invite her out for dinner?

The two arrived at that old pork chop bowl shop. Wu Peirui ordered a plate of pork chops and rice while Chen Luonian chose omelet rice. After paying, the two found a nook and sat down facing each other.

Chen Luonian looked at Wu Peirui, but before he even had the chance to open his mouth, she started to speak, “You’ve been watching me run for at least half a month now, right?”

Actually it was an entire month. Chen Luonian nodded.

“Senior Sister said that people like you are all perverts, but I don’t think so…” Wu Peirui said: “I’ll say it straight. Do you want to get to know me?”

This type of straight to the point questioning style was a little hard to deal with. Chen Luonian was stunned for a bit before finally saying: “Probably, yes.”

“Yes is just yes, why do you need to add a probably?” Wu Peirui seemed a little dissatisfied. Slightly knitting her brows, she said: “I’ve already been waiting for your for five days, but you never came, so I decided to come find you myself.”

Five days? Chen Luonian thought back. The other party did make eye contact with him five times… so it turned out this was what it meant?

“Now we already know each other, next is my second question.” Wu Peirui said: “After getting to know me, what do you wanna do?”

“Never thought about it.” Chen Luonian said: “Honestly, I never thought I would really get to know you.”

After speaking up to that point, the food that they ordered had arrived. Wu Peirui looked at the food and a smile appeared on her face. Picking up her chopsticks and spoon, she said: “Let’s eat first… That’s right, when I’m eating I can’t talk. Let’s eat.”

All that could be seen was Wu Peirui’s right and left hands moving simultaneously as she started to attack the pork chop rice. Her movements were still quite well-mannered, she didn’t open her mouth wide and fiercely chomp down, but each small bite and chew happened extremely fast. Not long later, an entire dish of pork chop rice was eradicated by her. Meanwhile, the omelet rice that Chen Luonian had ordered was only half finished.

After Wu Peirui finished eating, she didn’t say a word and just watched Chen Luonian eat. This made him feel quite uncomfortable, causing him to finish his food with in three rakes of his chopsticks and two gulps.

“Since you won’t say it, then I’ll just ask you directly.” Wu Peirui said: “Do you want to chase me?”

Chen Luonian was stunned. Immediately afterwards he shook his head, “No.”

“Huh?” Wu Peirui seemed quite surprised and blinked her eyes, “Then you really are a pervert?”

“No…” What kind of logic was this? Chen Luonian gave a wry smile as he shook his head, “If you really want an answer, then it’s probably that I’m a fan of your running.”

“Fan?” Wu Peirui was slightly surprised. It seems she wasn’t expecting to hear this answer.

“I like the way you look when you run. It feels like you’re running very comfortably and happily, watching it makes me feel very happy as well. That’s all.” Chen Luonian said: “If it caused you discomfort, I’m very sorry.”

“No, I’m really happy.” Wu Peirui opened her eyes wide, “You’re the first person that said this about me!”

“Really?” Chen Luonian was a little surprised.

“Other people always say my expression is really serious when I’m running. Why do you feel that I’m really comfortable?” Wu Peirui asked.

“Even though your lips are pulled towards the sides, your eyes seem to shine. So it looks like you’re enjoying it a lot.” Chen Luonian said.

“Eh?” Wu Peirui’s eyes exposed a smile as she said: “That’s right ah. I’m obviously enjoying it, why do they always say that I look angry?”

“That, I’m not sure.” Chen Luonian chuckled.

Wu Peirui thought for a moment. Then, her brows suddenly knitted as she felt around in her pocket. Taking out a couple coins, she pushed them forward and said: “This is money for the meal.”

“Aren’t I treating you?” Chen Luonian stared blankly at the money.

“I thought you wanted to chase me.” Wu Peirui’s cheeks reddened as she bit her lips, “Since that’s not the case, I’ll pay for myself.”

Chen Luonian was also a little embarrassed and murmured: “I already treated you though…”

“Or have you changed your mind and decided to chase me? In that case, I’ll just let you treat me.” Wu Peirui sulked a little as she said.

“Huh?” Chen Luonian froze for a moment. After considering the matter, he could only take the money.

“That’s right, the person that was talking with you earlier at the school entrance. He’s a member of a martial dao school, right?” Wu Peirui suddenly switched topics, “He’s called Huang something I think…”

“You know them as well?” Chen Luonian was a little surprised, “Are they that famous?”

“They’ve even gone on TV before. This group is the youngest monster subjugation force. They’re direct subordinates of the presidential office and have jurisdiction over the fourth district, not to mention they’re all students from our school. The group leader is Third Year Senior Sister, Ye Weishan. The assistant leader is Third Year Senior Brother, Lai Yixin.” Wu Peirui spoke like an announcer: “Do you know them well?”

“Could be considered acquaintances.” Chen Luonian didn’t really want to mention those things.

“Back then, I also wanted to sign up.” Wu Peirui knitted her brows, “But I didn’t meet the requirements.”

“That time, a month ago, when the school opened for signups?” Chen Luonian asked: “Which requirement?”

Wu Peirui scrunched her brows together and angrily said: “They said you had to be fifteen years or older. I’m not.”

“Eh? Shouldn’t First Years be fifteen years old?” Chen Luonian asked, puzzled.

“I skipped a grade.” Wu Peirui pouted, “I’m fourteen.”

Heck, isn’t this girl developing way too early? Based on her figure, it wouldn’t be strange even if you said she was already eighteen. But that face was the face of a fourteen year old… Chen Luonian was stunned for quite a while before he could continue speaking: “But after you join, you wouldn’t be able to participate in sports competitions anymore.”

“I run because I like running, not because of competitions.” Wu Peirui said: “Even if I can’t compete, I can still run.”

This was actually a pretty valid point. Chen Luonian nodded, “But after joining the martial dao school, you might encounter very desperate battles. Aren’t you scared?”

“I’m not scared!” Wu Peirui said.

“You’re really not scared?” Chen Luonian smiled, “Monsters are very frightening. They have extraordinary strength and are incomparably violent. They even swallow people alive.”

“Of course I know that monsters are very frightening. It’s because of this that people need to go deal with them ah…” Wu Peirui spoke halfway, then said with surprise: “How come you talk as if you’ve seen it before?”

Chen Luonian didn’t reply and questioned her once again: “Would your family agree?”

“There’s no one at home to look after me, I make decisions for myself.” Wu Peirui chopped the nail and sliced the iron as she decisively replied.

Chen Luonian thought for a bit, then got up, “Let’s go, I’ll bring you over.”

“Go where?” Wu Peirui stared blankly.

“To their practice area inside the school.” Chen Luonian said: “I’ll try introducing you.”

“Eh?” Wu Peirui jumped up in shock and said: “For real?”

“All the girls that signed up earlier were scared off.” Chen Luonian led the way and walked forward as he said: “They’re lacking girls.”

“Why are they lacking girls? What do they need girls for?” Wu Peirui said doubtfully: “Everyone said that I’m not very like a girl ah.”

“It’s not something bad.” Chen Luonian found it funny, “They’ll explain it if they’re willing to accept you.”

As he walked, Chen Luonian thought about the changes that occurred over these past three months…

[Chiyomira’s Corner]
Woohoo, nice! Good job pulling someone into the club even though you’re no longer part of it. Disregarding of course, that it’s a 14 year old child… Well, after all, at the end of the world, age doesn’t matter. Being stronger is always better in that scenario.
On another note, recently I realized that there were more Chinese chapters available for Dominion’s End and tore through it in 5 hours. Now I really really wanna read another book that’s like Dominion’s End~~~ Anyone have any recommendations?
