I quickly walked over and reprimanded her, “What are you doing here? You should be resting at home.”

“Your Tangge tricked me, he said he was going on a business trip but went back to your hometown instead. He’s bringing back your Tangshu, so we’re having lunch at a restaurant today,” Tangsao explained.

My heart fell upon hearing about his return. Our happy days had just started, is this the farthest they were gonna go?

“Feng, this is?” Tangsao’s gaze shifted to Liu Jie.

“Oh, I’m Liu Jie, one of Zhuang Feng’s good friends.” It was clear that she was a bit nervous, but why did she add a “good” before “friends”?

“Oh, I’m his Tangsao, Li Chunmei.” The two women shook hands.

“Wow, Mei-jie, are you kidding me? You don’t look a day over twenty, how could you be his Saozi?” Liu Jie’s eyes widened.

*The prefix –jie is the same as –ge, except feminine.

“You’re a cutie yourself. I sure wish I was twenty, but I’ll hit thirty in a couple of years. I’m getting old, too old.” Her laugh was bright and cheerful.

“Ah, Mei-jie has great skin, an excellent body, and killer looks. You really caused an uproar at the classroom door, many of my classmates thought of you as their dream idol.” Liu Jie’s compliments earned Tangsao’s favor.

“Here, get in the car. I’ll give you a ride home on our way back.” Tangsao was natural and relaxed, but I felt the opposite. It was as if my personal life was being exposed.

I got in the front passenger seat, but she gave me a dirty look and said, “Feng, sit in the back.”

“Ah, why?”

“We’re picking up your Tangge and Tangshu, and you still want to sit shotgun?” Tangsao’s tone held a sliver of complaint.

If Tangge was going to come, it would be weird if I sat at the front. I stumbled out and sat with Liu Jie.

They were really able to chat freely with each other, and their topics ranged from which clothing stores had the most discounts to relationships and marriage. It wasn’t surprising though; Tangge didn’t often spend time with her, and I’ve never had any experience with the subjects she liked to talk about, being from the countryside. Meeting Liu Jie was a relief.

“Ah, I think we passed my house already,” Liu Jie suddenly said.

“This is a one-way street. It’ll be a hassle to go back to where we were. Would you like to just eat lunch with us?” Tangsao invited. Jesus, this was only their first day of meeting, and they’re already going to share a meal together?

“Wait, Saozi, her family is probably still waiting for her. Turning around at the next block shouldn’t take too much time, right?” I didn’t want to bring Liu Jie along. What kind of idiocy is that?

“Nah, my parents are usually super busy, and they always eat by themselves. I’m more afraid that I’ll bother you guys while we eat,” Liu Jie mumbled.

“No no, I reserved an eight-person course meal anyway. We’ll need an extra mouth to finish it.” Tangsao smiled happily.

In no time at all, we arrived at the bus station and met up with Tangge and Tangshu. They looked bewildered at the sight of Liu Jie.

Liu Jie greeted them politely, as if she was meeting her spouse’s parents or something. I escaped the scene by helping with their luggage.

When Tangshu wasn’t looking, Tangge nudged my elbow and grinned at me. “Your homeroom teacher called me to say that your test scores have been slipping lately. I thought Saozi was bothering you, but it turns out you were picking up chicks.”

Tch, does he really still see me as a kid? Of course, I wasn’t in a position to deny him. If Tangge were to loosen his grip on Tangsao because of this, things might turn around.

“Hehe, don’t embarrass me, Tangge.” I kept on a straight face.

Then, he pushed his voice to a whisper. “So, about my… thing, don’t mention it in front of Tangshu. Or else, who knows what’ll happen?“

He was talking about the debt. I may have chased them off, but there was nothing inherently wrong with collecting a debt. I had only acted as a warning, but if we wanted to live worry-free, Tangge would need to pay off the sum.

“Understood!” I nodded and got in the car.

Because Tangshu had brought a lot of stuff, especially local specialties from our hometown, the trunk was crammed full. We started to put the rest in the backseat, and space was becoming a big issue.

“Feng, why don’t you have your girlfriend sit on your lap?” Tangge furrowed his brows and asked.

I felt strange, scared that Saozi would be unhappy. But I couldn’t see her face at the driver’s seat.

Before I could react, Liu Jie raised herself and leaned back, plopping herself onto my lap.

My mind went absolutely crazy from her creamy softness and steadily radiating body heat. Liu Jie’s summer dress exposed her luscious thighs, and I didn’t know where to put my hands. I could feel that she was nervous, too. Her alluring smell filled my senses, jerking a response from a certain place on my body.

She seemed to freeze momentarily, not moving a muscle. Our increasingly rapid breathing rose along with our body temperatures. I hastily rolled down the window and felt as if I’d erupt if this went on for too long.

Tangge looked at us briefly, and he seemed to be a bit confused. No, it was suspicion of whether we were really lovers or not. F**k, he can’t know the truth. I stretched out my arm, placing it around Liu Jie’s smooth and delicate waist.

Of course, she hadn’t expected my sudden move. She let out a small moan, and then quickly turned it into a cough.

“Jie, are you alright? Sick or something?” Tangsao asked idly.

“Mm, a little.” Liu Jie’s voice was as tiny as a mosquito’s. Ah, this girl really has no talent in acting at all.

“The weather’s been changing pretty fast lately; you should wear warmer clothes. Nobody enjoys having a cold,” Tangsao cautioned. The topic managed to move elsewhere.

I let out a breath of relief. But then, Liu Jie’s phone started to ring.

Her purse was just beside my leg, and her body shifted when she bent over to pick it up. With another point of contact, I felt her most fiery warmth.

F**k, this is killing me. If she were to twist around again, my spear might really find its target.
