Did he actually physically slap his own face, or was it supposed to be “She had fiercely slapped his face…” to metaphorically convey his shame under her hands?

The guy had to practically pry the princess crown from his new bride infront of everyone (3rd slap).

And I’m glad he’s not the male lead, usually in this kind of stories, the husband (even if a complete asshole) is the male lead. Hope she can get rid of this awful marriage soon!
