Su Luo is developed to be a character with great wit, yet here we have a situation where there were so many clues but she’s oblivious. This type of flowery chapters where it’s all fluff for some “romantic” teasing that’s implausible is infuriating. I know ideas are not something that magically appear but I hate authors who do this. I digress, thanks for the chap.
I think it is her subconscious that refused to believe, because if she had believed so, she would so have to admit that the prince had known and seen through her from the start of the chase, then she would also have to admit that the prince’s skills are superior to hers. And her pride simply couldn’t accept it
Pride, bro. If you pride is high enough, then you can even disregard the obvious.
In this case, she refuses to acknowledge that Nangong made her out, because she thinks her disguise is too good, even though it should have been obvious to her at the bloody start.
But yes, this is a “fluff” chapter with no real point than some crappy romance plot. It could have been done better; if the author made her realize that she knows he knows its her, and that she would test a battle of wits against him instead, in a L vs Light scenario… except its would be about stupid things.
Probably insinuating that he was gay, or something (since she is disguised as a man, I believe).
Also she has a tendency to forget the rules in this world is different. Her “skills” such as disguises from our world may be hard to see through in our technology world but not this world. She is still adjusting to this world and unfortunately too confident in her old world “skills” that are easy to see through in this magical world 😉
