For the second recommendation, we’re crossing the western sea into the mainland with I Shall Seal The Heavens, a CN novel.
It’s not my favorite novel from the country, not even my favorite of its particular genre, but it belongs in the same category as One Piece does in the world of Manga. It’s very long and is pretty standard story-wise, but it has its moments and someone who hasn’t read it or something similar is worse off for not being able to tell when the genre is being made fun of.
The story is about as important as it is in Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, as it’s mostly just a reason to allow the MC to pose some more… Anyways, for those of you looking to take the plunge into CN novels, it’s a good place to start, chapter one can be found: There
I also admire the translator, as he’s the only person I know of who translates full time, he’s taken the time to really get into it, helping with context etc.
Oh, and this is mostly just a personal note, there’s no rape in ISSTH, as there are in many otherwise well written Asian novels. I will never be recommending a series that includes that theme, even if everything else about them is amazing. [My 2 pence]

i agree completely anything with rape or slaves i just dont read, ruins the whole thing for me, especially when a antagonist main objective is to just rape a heroine of the hero…sighs
