Chapter 277 – Elementary Apothecary (2)

“Okay, okay, okay. I promise you I will study hard to be an Apothecary. However, you should also promise me, if in the future you come across a Grandmaster Apothecary, you are not allowed to refuse treatment from them.” Su Luo had no choice but to agree to his demand.

Nangong Liuyun wickedly and unscrupulously blinked his eyes, mumbling a sentence to himself: If this king was to walk in a roundabout route, then how could I run into one?

“What did you say?” His voice was very soft, Su Luo couldn’t hear it clearly.

“Luo Luo’s thoughts are for the sake of this king. This king’s heart is very comforted. You should rest assured that this king will certainly marry you and take you as wife. I will save the position of main wife, Princess Jin, for you.” Nangong Liuyun said in high spirits.

Once he said this, Su Luo at once recalled the manor’s servants actions earlier today. If it weren’t for the evildoer in front of her secretly issuing commands, then how could those servants dare to address her with that title?

“The position of Princess Jin, humph, you should keep it, this young lady is not interested.”

“But this king wants only you to take that position.” Nangong Liuyun’s eyes showed dense tender feelings, he grabbed hold of and pulled Su Luo, who was turning and just about to leave, to a stop. His face that charmed all living things, had an unprecedentedly serious, earnest stare, “The position of Princess Jin, apart from you, will eternally not be filled by another person!”

Then, what about the Jade Lake’s fairy? This sentence was almost blurted out by Su Luo. However, in the end, she stiffly restrained herself.

The Jade Lake’s fairy…This was an eternal taboo between them that would not let her be at peace and even-tempered. Often, when she was touched by his dedication to her, that incomparably beautiful face would always emerge in her head. That extraordinary and refined fairy who was above the common populace.

This was a thorn in her heart, it normally didn’t hurt nor itch until at a critical time, then it would make the heart sore.

Su Luo quietly and unmovingly gazed at Nangong Liuyun. Finally, she turned her head away.

That name, she never wanted to say it again.

If one day in the future, she didn’t need to say it and Nangong Liuyun would automatically stand by her side defending her, protecting her, in that case, maybe she really would give her heart to him and together with him, build the river of love. Together in this different world, hand in hand, they would conquer a slice of bright heaven for themselves.

Now, she must not give him any promises, because she was afraid of being hurt again. In her previous life, being stupid once was enough. In this world, she must live for herself and to live marvelously well!

Nangong Liuyun was very intelligent, how could he not understand what Su Luo wanted to say, but once again didn’t say? However, the him right now could not say anything…He silently looked out the window, slowly releasing a deep breath.

An understanding but lonely smile flashed on Su Luo’s face.

The atmosphere inside the room was now somewhat heavy and dense.

Nangong Liuyun suddenly let out a sigh and heavily rubbed Su Luo’s head: “Doesn’t Luo girl want to practice to become an Apothecary? Come, this king will take you for a stroll around the medicine garden. If there are medicinal herbs that you need, we will pick it from there.”

“Medicine garden?” Su Luo curiously looked at him, “You actually have a medicine garden?”

Nangong Liuyun non-committally smiled with a should-be-expected manner as he led Su Luo by hand and walked out.

Along the way, they came across the manor’s servants. Each and every one of them had seen His Highness Prince Jin from a distance away, so they had already moved to the curbside, bowing while waiting.

Yesterday, those that had waited upon them in the dining room were merely a small number of people. As a result, today they actually saw with their own eyes their family’s Asura-like, deeply cold Highness unexpectedly acting like a child. He was in an exuberant mood while leading along a young lady, holding her hand.

For a moment, there were people dropping plates, walking and twisting their ankles, spraining their necks, and the greatest number of people, were the ones whose chins dropped to the ground…

Su Luo was somewhat embarrassed, and she wanted to shake off Nangong Liuyun. However, Nangong Liuyun’s hand, which seemed as if it was lightly holding hers, his wrist was in fact as hard as an iron clamp. No matter what Su Luo did, she was unable to throw him off.

Haaah, poor Lou Lou for feeling like this. It’s really eating her up.
Please tell me, they will pass the hurdle call “bitch fairy” wonderfully.
Probably with a lot of angst, ugh I am not looking forward reading it.
I just want them instantly together lol, save heartache only for the bad people. XD

This. This is something that needed to be said and way earlier. This short excerpt made all of this more bearable.

Your rant about that review actually made me read 276 and 277. I’m happy about this. Thank you for the chapter.

Nb: As always I’m having troubles posting here. There will probably be a double post. Thank you in advance for deleting them.

Other viewers have said to try refreshing the page if you have issues posting. Does that mean I should rant more? 😆 I’m going to keep my ranting to more annoying stuff like moving 🙁

  4. n00dle says:

I can’t stop laughing at the servants who saw them holding hand xD …

  5. asterix says:

    Thanks for the chapter.

As usual, the description is too details, and I found its so funny especially the last two paragraph.

It would be wonderful if Su Luo could accept Nangong proposal. I want them to be a couple soonm

  6. Starvenus says:

Me too. I finally know that Nangong actually knows what’s up, him not acting like the regular male lead (not seeing the girl that closes to him actually is a viper) at least put these angst more bearable.

  7. ludagad says:

Hm? “I will save the position of main wife, Princess Jin, for you.” Hmmmm??
Man, those ancient guys sure had it nice with the harems and all. Is he really thinking of getting more women after Su Luo (at this point) once he tires of eating the same dish? And she’s also a cultivator, not just some noble daughter he can keep inside a palace like an ornament. It seems, in that world, cultivators are given more freedom, including females, so which female would agree to stay hidden in some guy’s harem? Bah.
Well, I’m not seriously arguing, just found NL’s words funny and decided to say my piece about these ancient settings haha. My modern sensibilities just can’t agree. At what point in time in the past (including different dimensions) can you actually find women on equal grounds as men; where they’re respected for their worth like men. By respect I include the point of not shoving them in some male MC’s harem too…
Can you tell how strongly I oppose this? Lol, it’s taken some of my enjoyment away from quite a few great stories (not this one though, since it’s kinda obvious it won’t go that route…will it??).

    • June says:

I may have translated this wrong…He basically want to make her his only empress… but with the times and his status I used main wife because he is allowed to have concubines. Of course this also leads to the open misunderstanding that he may marry more than one wife, even though that is not what he thinks.

      • ludagad says:

I really wasn’t seriously hung up on his words, just that it reminded me of the setting and the possibility lol. And then I went on a rant as usual (since a bunch of the novels I’ reading actually have the harem tag)… But it’s reassuring to know he meant one and only :>. I’m all for dedicated love.

        • Azkaal says:

Well, quite often when there is harem tag, it means more like MC having several love interests and in the end one is picked. Seldom I have found stories where they end with actual harem.

Ah, I didn’t intend to offend you with this comment but just share my thougths about the matter ( ^ _ ^ )

          Please take this Waffle as a goodwill gift (> ‘ _ ‘ )>#<( ^ _ ^ <)

          • ludagad says:

Absolutely no offence taken lol, you shouldn’t worry about expressing your views and experiences (but I understand this worry, lots of people are easily offended these days).

I think having lots of love interests makes the story interesting, and it feels good to have a MC (male or female) that is admired by many people. I’m happy as long as he or she is dedicated to one person in the end, otherwise it gives me a sleazy feeling. But it also depends on the author how he presents the love interests and the MC’s reaction to them. In some cases, they just turn the MC into a character that’s greedy for girls (maybe the author’s self-projection, who knows) and it makes his image in my mind worsen. I’ve very rarely seen the same with female MCs (one I can think of and maybe a few I’ve forgotten).

And sometimes the girls are viewed like trophies (like treasures you get after you unlock an achievement) which is additionally difficult for me to read. Well, if the story is interesting I’m still willing to overlook a lot of those things lol. But yeah, a MC with an actual harem just lowers my opinion of him. (gosh, another rant…)

        • June says:

I was hanged up on how to translate what he called her into English…If anyone can figure out a better word or way to translate this I’d appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

          • ludagad says:

Did he call her wangfei? Not that I’m so familiar with terminology lol… I think you picked the best translation (I fully trust you <3). But with this setting, no matter the word you use it'll lead to the same interpretation. NL in fact can choose to have concubines and other wives, it's all up to him and SL has no choice in the matter. It's his decision if she'll be his one and only. It's simply an unfair society, where men decide what is proper and women follow. I know this is a romance story with a female readership in mind, so I didn't suspect NL's intentions, haha. I was simply ranting on this unfair setting and fake-raging on NL. Don't mind it. It's all the author's decision and it's up to them how they set up the characters. I'm simply a passionate reader who's extremely grateful to you and the other translators, and editors, and proofreaders doing an awesome job bringing us these novels in English.

      • Shanzu says:

Thanks for clarifying this, I was also bothered by this ‘main wife’ thing. 🙂 he better not think of adding the jade Lake bitch to his harem <- horrified of my own thoughts lol

    • riri says:

Yeah, when I saw that I was thinking he was gonna add “bitch fairy” as a concubine while Su Luo is the main wife.. Uh-uh, not gonna happen dude. He’d better not be thinking that 🙁

      • RoflCat says:

He’s the faithful type, so he himself will never get another.

That said, he IS still a man of position, so there’s always going to be others trying to make him take concubine in hope of inheriting his power/position/use that connection (I mean, Su Luo is a daughter of concubine)

  8. Grateful fan says:

Whoa. I spend 2 days reading this. I didn’t really expect to be hook on this. I came across this novel by a comment upon reading of a translation of the Legendary’s Wife.

I read somewhere in the old comments, June mentioned there are 5000+ chapters. OH the heartache. And, the story is barely touching the frosting of the cake.

But I gotta say, that girl sure got a lot of enemies. Haha.

I want to see the dragon papa already. More than once, please. If dragon papa can materialized as a human form, makes me wonder that baby dragon would one day too. 🙂

And that president guy from the union, I would love to see more of him too. Pretty interesting character. He was the one who made me goes “pfftt” on his winking and Su Luo’s impression of him was prettt funny.

As the fairy girl, it makes me wonder if she had anything to do with the illness he has. He did mentioned that he had he owe fairy woman for saving his life. She probably purposely made him sick.

And, the fellow Ruo girl (?) Sorry forgot her name. I get this feeling that her arm gonna regenerate because of that pill formula Su Luo gave away.

It be interesting, if the wedding is back on with the crown prince x Su Luo. Haha. But then again, the prince hates her. The crown prince did show a slight of her but maybe when she matured into a young woman would he probably be after her. Right now, she’s like only 15 (?) so I’m looking forward seeing how’s that gonna turn out. By then, she should be strong enough to protect herself and her dragon.《♥

Sorry, I like to predict things and have my imagination goes wild.

Thank you so much for the translations. And thank you for the donators ♥♥

    • June says:

Most of your prediction will come true…The only one that won’t appear well up to chapter 4888 is the dragon papa.

  9. Midori says:

    thanks a lot!
    the OTP is so cute—-!
but yeah, just clear the thing about the jade lake’s fairy—! ah, what’s the use! you say and act so affectionately, but you didn’t eventake action against the person who tried to kill her! poor su luo…my heart hurts…
but i’m glad that she’s still considering him, because she knows his sincere—-! how nice, ahaha!
    go—-to become an apothecary!

  10. Busybee says:

Thanks for the chapter. Hilarious to see Prince Jin’s servants reactions to him and SL holding hands. Wonder when Fairy will appear to destroy the fragile relationship between SL & Prince?

  11. chronos5884 says:

    Thanks for the chapter!

Tch, naturally he still won’t believe her if she dared to tell him the truth about his beloved Jade Lake Fairy.
