Chapter 14: Harder Than Iron, Stronger Than Steel

Loulan, who was standing in front of the Vanguard Training Hall, was bored to death.

But when he saw the badly battered Ai Hui who was barely breathing, he crooked his head and asked: “Ai Hui, what happened?”

Ai Hui looked at Loulan, then, his dull eyes suddenly brightened. Without saying anything else, he pulled Loulan into the door and said: “Help me with something!”

When Loulan heard the words “help me”, he stood up immediately, answering in a somewhat happy tone: “Okay.”

After pulling Loulan into the training hall, Ai Hui picked a wide open space. While standing still, he asked Loulan with a serious face: “Beat me!”

Loulan’s eyes widened, he thought that he had heard wrong.

“Come, beat me! Beat me really hard!” Ai Hui’s face was full of encouragement.

He had rammed into everything that could be knocked into, but there were many silver strands of metal energy still remaining. However, he had nearly exhausted all his strength. Let alone knock into something, he didn’t even have the strength to move a single finger. Also, after entering the city, he did not dare to randomly knock into things. If he broke something, he wouldn’t be able to afford to compensate for it.

But when he saw Loulan, he immediately thought up of an ingenious idea.

It could achieve a smashing effect and it wouldn’t need him to use any energy.

Loulan crooked his head, looked at Ai Hui with a serious gaze, and said with a hint of worry: “Ai Hui, are you ill?”

“I’m not ill, this is training.” Ai Hui racked his brains to explain it: “This is one of my original, special cultivation methods.”

“So it’s like that…” Loulan was suddenly enlightened.

“Come, come!” Ai Hui was in high spirits: “Use a little more force, the more the better. Don’t worry about injuring me, rest assured, I am really resilient!”

“But, Loulan doesn’t know how to fight.” Loulan said weakly.

As if he was struck by a thunderbolt, Ai Hui’s eyes widened. He looked at Loulan in disbelief and stammered: “Don’t, don’t know how to fight?”

F, fight?

Ai Hui almost thought that he had misheard. He truly was a bit unfamiliar with the word “fight”. He was a veteran specialized in battle who had lived in the Savage Territories for three years. Fight? How could such an amateur word be in his vocabulary. It took him more than two seconds to react.

Wait, don’t know how to fight? There were actually sand golems that didn’t know how to fight?

Ai Hui stared dazedly at Loulan.

Out of all the sand golems he had seen, there were none who were not proficient in battle. They were cool and calculating, experts at camouflage and making traps. They would carry out orders to the letter, and had all kinds of methods and tricks that were impossible to defend. Each and every sand golem was a genuine killing machine. The reason why sand golems were made was precisely for battle.

This was the first time he had seen a sand golem that did not know how to fight.

Ai Hui subconsciously asked: “Then what can you do?”

Loulan counted with his fingers: “Loulan knows how to do laundry, cook, buy groceries, clean rooms and courtyards, make tea…”

Ai Hui was stupefied, he felt like his view on life had been heavily attacked. This… was this still a sand golem?

When he regained his senses, Ai Hui displayed his strong adaptability. Since he had no other option, he could only say encouragingly: “No problem, I’ll teach you.”

However, there was no confidence in his voice.

On the contrary, Loulan was totally enthusiastic: “Loulan will work hard!”

Night fell, and the gourds in the Vanguard Training Hall lit up with a gentle white radiance, making the entire training hall as bright as snow. Two figures were entangled together under the light.

“Your current movements are wrong. You are a sand golem, you don’t have joints, you can’t blindly copy me. Loulan, you are a sand golem, you can be soft or hard. When you ought to be soft, you should be soft, when you ought to be hard, you should be hard. Elemental energy is the key, use elemental energy to make your attack even harder.”

“Harder than iron! Stronger than steel!”

“Pay attention to your angles. Right, the angle in which you attack from is really important, don’t hold back!”

“If I didn’t say stop, don’t stop. Sss, you’re making progress. Ow, that one’s hard enough. Use a little more power, ahhhh…”

Time unceasingly passed by.

Loulan felt that he was improving really fast and this made him very happy. Being able to learn something new was a really joyous event. Even though Ai Hui’s hobby was a little strange, being able to help Ai Hui was also a joyous event.

He kept Ai Hui’s “don’t hold back” reminder in mind and earnestly beat flesh.

Loulan beautifully struck fifteen consecutive times, each being critical strikes integrated with power. Pow! Each sonic boom was louder than the next. Like a forlorn sandbang, Ai Hui drew a graceful arc, flying off more than ten meters away.

Beautifully done!

Loulan was extremely satisfied with his recent combo, there was no mistake in that at all.

Barely breathing, Ai Hui laid down on the ground with an unfocused gaze and a lifeless expression.

Loulan crouched down, looked at Ai Hui with a tilted face, and seriously asked: “Ai Hui, do we still need to continue training?”

Ai Hui no longer felt the piercing pain because his entire body hurt all over. All the silver strands of metal energy probably had all scattered, we’ll just end today here…

However, Ai Hui quickly discovered an extremely terrifying fact. The muscles in his cheeks had been violently struck numb, so even opening his mouth was impossible. Not only that, his entire body was in a paralyzed state.

Could it be that what I taught Loulan earlier was a paralyzing attack? Shit, why did I teach him that?

“Ai Hui?” Loulan crooked his head: “Do we still need to continue training?”

Enough, already enough, completely enough!

Ai Hui howled in his heart.

Loulan suddenly stood up as if he suddenly saw the light: “Loulan understands. Ai Hui said earlier that if he doesn’t say to stop, I can’t stop! Okay, let’s continue! Loulan will continue to work hard!”

Loulan transformed one of his arms into a sand whip, aimed towards Ai Hui and muttered to himself: “Harder than iron! Stronger than steel!”

No! Ai Hui’s inward howl changed to that of terror. No, no, no! Hey, hey, hey! Enough, not training anymore, let’s not train anymore…

Bang bang bang!

The mentally collapsed Ai Hui stared blankly as he was pelted by a torrential storm of attacks.

Duanmu Huanghun’s face was overcast. Every one of his close brothers kept a distance from him. Whenever this guy was in a bad mood, they should never provoke him. At the moment, not only was his mood bad, it was extremely bad!

They knew that Duanmu Huanghun was a guy who paid extreme attention to face. No matter when they saw him, he was always graceful and elegant looking. When had they ever seen his face that dark before? Furthermore, his face looked more terrible by the day and his entire body emitted killing intent. Those who had even a bit of discerning ability would keep far away from him.

Duanmu Huanghun’s mood was extremely terrible. As his gaze swept past the school building, his complexion darkened even more!

Dammit! Bastard!

He clenched his fists so hard that they lost color.

That wretched trash actually had not come to class for several days!

Telling him to tutor a trash that would not even attend the Introductory Course had already hurt his ego. He did his utmost to comfort himself, he had to continuously tell himself that he was a leader, a genius!

Reality was a cruel blow, no matter what how much a genius had to control himself to suppress his anger, there was no helping a trash!

From the first day, he had scoured through many training sites for beginner students, and not finding Ai Hui had already caused his mood to be bad. A beginner student with bad innate talent had a low starting point, he had already acknowledged that with a pinched nose. This guy not training was fine, if worst comes to worst, he would grab him over and watch him. But…

This guy didn’t even attend lessons!

Duanmu Huanghun only wanted to swear at the moment. He had seen lazy people, but he had never seen this kind of lazy!

You don’t even go to class, what did you come to the Induction Ground for?

He had barely managed to lower his dignity and stoop down to promise the Master that he’d be a tutor, but the result? He couldn’t even find the person in question!

Duanmu Huanghun’s heart cried with tears. God, why are you playing with me like this? How unlucky am I to have landed into such an unreasonable situation? To have been implicated with such an unreasonable person!

Just thinking about his genius name being sullied by this trash made Duanmu Huanghun’s heart burned with rage, his fury crackled and combusted.

Just you wait!

Duanmu Huanghun angrily said in his heart with determination.
